Onsite has 2 record types for the people and businesses you work for: customers and accounts. Here's what each one is for and how billing connects them.

Customers and accounts

In Customers, the New menu offers these 2 record types:

Record

Use it for

Customer

Contacts linked to 1 or more service locations. You can add a business name for commercial customers.

Account

Billing across multiple customers.

Where the work happens vs. who pays

A customer's service location and billing destination can be different. When you add a customer, Bill to lets you choose Bill to the serviced location or Bill to an account.

Tip: When another account pays for the work, check Bill to on the customer record.

Start an account

  1. In Customers, select New > Account, then follow the steps on screen.
