Build an estimate on a job with services, materials, and equipment. Then preview it and save it or continue.

Before you start

You need a job to add the estimate to.

Start the estimate

Note: Opening the estimate builder creates a draft estimate on the job right away, even if you don't select Save & exit.

Open the job you want to estimate.

On web

  1. On the job, select Add > Estimates, or select the add control in the Estimates section.

  2. In the builder, enter an Estimate name.

In the mobile app

  1. On the job, select + > Estimate.

  2. In the builder, enter a Name.

Add line items

  1. In Search for service, find the services you want to add. In the mobile app, the list starts empty: type part of a service name, then select a match.

  2. Select Add materials or Add equipment to add other line items. In the mobile app, select Add service to add another service.

  3. Add a Summary or Media to include supporting details. In the mobile app, under Include, select + Summary or + Media.

If the summary shows “Not enough info to generate yet — add notes or line items, or write your own.”, add line items or notes first, or write your own summary.

Review and save

Review the subtotal, Discount, Taxes, and total.

On web

  1. Select Preview to see how the estimate looks.

  2. Select Save & exit to leave the builder, or select Continue, then follow the steps on screen.

In the mobile app

  1. To add a discount, select Discount > + Add. Choose % or $, enter the amount and an optional description, then select Save changes.

  2. Select Taxes to open Tax breakdown, and check the Taxable switch on each line.

  3. Select the 3-dot menu (⋮) in the upper-right corner, then Preview customer copy to see how the estimate looks.

  4. Select the 3-dot menu (⋮) again, then Save & exit.

The estimate appears on the job with a Draft badge. The 3-dot menu also has Print estimate and Delete estimate.
